The School of Health Sciences offers an extensive range of high‑quality, accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to engage students in learning experiences across classroom‑based education through to professional workplace practice.
About the role
This academic position is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and delivery of courses into our new program, the Bachelor of Health Sciences. You will play a key role in shaping the future of this program by contributing to curriculum development, ensuring academic quality and relevance, and supporting student success through pastoral care and academic guidance. Working closely with the Program Coordinator and a multidisciplinary team across campuses, you will be actively involved in the design, implementation, and ongoing review of the program to ensure it meets the highest standards of education and professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging teaching activities, including lectures, tutorials, practicals, workshops, fieldwork, and clinical or studio sessions.
- Develop and coordinate subjects, including designing curriculum content and learning materials in collaboration with senior staff where required.
- Assess and support student learning through marking, feedback, consultations.
- Contribute to research and scholarly activities, maintaining professional relevance and advancing discipline knowledge.
- Coordinate and contribute to departmental and faculty meetings or committees.
- Engage in professional and institutional activities that support program quality, growth, and alignment with academic standards.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- A post graduate qualification (or equivalent accreditation, industry experience and professional standing) relevant to the discipline area.
- Proven ability to contribute to teaching, research, and/or professional practice.
- Demonstrated experience in educational material development, including entry-level, postgraduate, or professional education.
- Strong understanding of curriculum delivery, student engagement, and assessment practices in higher education.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and alignment with the values and mission of Notre Dame University.
- Proven ability to supervise student research projects and contribute to scholarly and professional activities (desirable).
